SUMMER ACADEMY JERICHO TURF
2026 Summer Academy Season

The Academy is central to our club’s player development, offering professional, age-appropriate soccer coaching for players aged 5–12. We welcome both new and experienced players into a supportive learning environment.
​
We aim to create positive team environments where every player can develop and succeed. Players are grouped with others of similar age, gender and ability to support learning, confidence, and enjoyment of the game.​
Training Schedule & Location
The Summer Academy runs from July 2 to August 20 and includes 15 training sessions.

Training takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Jericho Turf.

Players are grouped by age, gender, and ability where appropriate.
​​
We will do our best to accommodate time requests; however, training times and locations are assigned to ensure the best learning environment for all players.

Club Fees
​
The Academy fee for the Summer season is $300. This fee covers all 15 sessions from July - August.
​
As part of the VRFC Summer Academy, players receive:
1) Professional, certified coaching
All Summer Academy sessions are delivered by professional, certified coaches — not parent volunteers — ensuring a consistent and high-quality learning experience for every player.
​
Our coaching team is energetic, experienced, and fully certified, with backgrounds coaching children aged 2–19 in Canada and internationally.
​​
Players remain with the same coaching team throughout the season, allowing coaches to build strong relationships with players and create positive, connected team environments.
2) Two training sessions per week
​Tuesday sessions focus on foundational skill development, with players spending the majority of the session on the ball to build technique, confidence, and comfort in possession.
​​
Thursday sessions are built around non-competitive, game-based activities, where VRFC teams play against one another to apply skills in realistic game situations.

3) Exceptional Learning Opportunities
The Summer Academy is designed as a development-focused lead-in to the Fall and Winter seasons, giving players time to build skills, confidence, and connections within the club.​
Players train in stable team environments, allowing coaches to introduce playing concepts and help players become comfortable with teammates they may continue with in the regular season.
​​
Summer is also an ideal entry point for new players, offering a welcoming, low-pressure environment to learn, improve, and become part of the VRFC community.
