SPRING ACADEMY UBC / KITS HIGH
2026 Spring Academy Season

The Academy is central to our club’s player development, offering professional, age-appropriate soccer coaching for players aged 5–12. We welcome both new and experienced players into a supportive learning environment.

We aim to create positive team environments where every player can develop and succeed. Players are grouped with others of similar age, gender and ability to support learning, confidence, and enjoyment of the game.
Training Schedule & Location
The Spring Academy runs from March 30 to June 19 and includes 22 training sessions.
There will be no training on April 3 (Good Friday) or May 18 (Victoria Day).
Training takes place on Monday and Friday evenings at either UBC Stadium Field or Kitsilano Secondary Turf.

UBC Stadium Field:
• 5:00–6:00pm or 6:00–7:00pm

Kitsilano Secondary Turf:
• 5:00–6:00pm, 6:00–7:00pm, or 7:00–8:00pm

Earlier time slots are reserved for the youngest age groups. Players at both locations are grouped by age, gender, and ability where appropriate.

We will do our best to accommodate time requests; however, training times and locations are assigned to ensure the best learning environment for all players. Training assignments will be confirmed once rosters are finalized by March 15th.

Club Fees

The Academy fee for the Spring season is $440. This fee covers all 22 sessions from March - June.

As part of the VRFC Spring Academy, players receive:
1) Two training sessions per week
*Team training will take place on Monday and Friday evenings at UBC's Stadium Field OR Kitsilano Secondary Turf.**

Monday sessions focus on foundational skill development, with players spending the majority of the session on the ball to build technique, confidence, and comfort in possession.

Friday sessions are built around non-competitive, game-based activities, where VRFC teams play against one another to apply skills in realistic game situations.

Full training dates and times are listed below.

**Players will be assigned a training location once rosters are finalized in early March. This allows us to manage field availability, meet demand, and keep age groups and teams together.

2) Professional, certified coaching
All Spring Academy sessions are delivered by professional, certified coaches — not parent volunteers — ensuring a consistent and high-quality learning experience for every player.

Our coaching team is energetic, experienced, and fully certified, with backgrounds coaching children aged 2–19 in Canada and internationally.

Players remain with the same coaching team throughout the season, allowing coaches to build strong relationships with players and create positive, connected team environments.
3) Exceptional learning opportunities
The Spring Academy is designed as a development-focused lead-in to the Fall and Winter seasons, giving players time to build skills, confidence, and connections within the club.
Players train in stable team environments, allowing coaches to introduce playing concepts and help players become comfortable with teammates they may continue with in the following season.

Spring is also an ideal entry point for new players, offering a welcoming, low-pressure environment to learn, improve, and become part of the VRFC community.

Club Kit

All new players are recommended to purchase an official Vancouver Rangers Kit. The cost is $125.00 and this can be purchased below. This is not compulsory for Spring season but is required for Fall/Winter.
